Busy schedule? Doing what? School work? The kid only has to float through school and pass all his classes. The only "busy" aspect of his life is opening mail.

Most of his games are on fridays, so if he actually planned on visiting schools, he could.

Why setup a visit if you have no intention of actually going? Even if you are to cancel, why not inform the staff previously?

If you remember, this isn't the first time he has cancelled a visit.

How do you know only busy aspect of his life is opening mail? Obviously a lot more if he doesnt plan to visit schools for a month or two. Let the process play out. He doesnt owe anything to anyone that is a fan. Coaching staff I'm sure have contact with Tread and will make a decision based on that. I still feel if you are to ask any fan base how confident you feel to land Treadwell, that Michigan is best bet.

huh Yeah there's also that whole football thing that he's concerned about right now.. He's training, watching film, lifting weights, practicing, and getting ready for the college game. That's a ton to deal with. I'm not sure where you're getting the fact that he has nothing to do. Not sure if you play in high school, but it's a lot to handle. Ten times more for those few who are good enough to play in college.

He has his hands full with his possible state championship. I'm glad that he cares more about his team and his personal success than recruiting. It shows a lot about his character. He's a team player who cares more about his team than himself. That's the kind of kid I want at Michigan.

Sorry if he disrupted your day by not visiting Michigan. I'm sure he would apologize in person if he were here.

He's apparently had that job for awhile. Not sure how close he and his uncle are, but it doesn't seem like a deciding factor.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think I would want to play for any of my family members, maybe with my family, but certainly not for.

Not sure it's been for awhile. His uncle from Oklahoma played for OkSt and was telling Treadwell to go to OkSt earlier this year. Could not have been employed by Oklahoma and doing that at the same time. Unless he has two uncles in Oklahoma, both involved with football. Doesn't seem very likely.

Who said to feel badly for him? He has a busy schedule and easily could have forgotten about the gametime. Heck after next weeks game against Nebraska I couldn't name 1 kickoff time for us.

he also could of took 30 seconds to type in espn.com and check what time we play. I have never seen a recruit plan on going on a visit and not know what time the game is. come on now,

  • If you guys are getting mad at a recruit for not visiting, then you really need a life. Sounds as bad as the people harassing Dawson.

I'm not mad. I can care less, but to make it look like he forgot about a game or didn't know what time the game starts is ridiculous. He's 17 year's old. he's on twitter all day, so he knows how to use the internet. he could of went to any sports website and got the time. It will be better if he just said he can't make it. very simple. I'm not even sure if what people reporting here about LT saying he forgot about the game/not knowing kickoff time is true, but if it is true, LT is lying. not hard to check kickoff times.

Maybe with his schedule, he wanted to sleep in and rest after a long school week, and didnt want to drive 8 hours round trip and pay on his own dime. He also may have wanted to know what time the kickoff was, because he planned on watching it on TV. He may have been flipping through the guide on the TV, but he doesn't have/or didn't realize the game was on the BTN and didn't see the game on the TV schedule. Or maybe he had a tryst planned on Saturday with a local hottie who was giving that censored up, and couldn't refuse the invite. Who really gives a damn. If hes taking officials after his season/1-2 months, its more likely he wont see the game day atmospheres at the other schools (Oklahoma, or Okla. State etc....) which would be good for us.

    I think so too...

If Michigan gets to a BCS Bowl but Oklahoma does not, then I like our chances.

Winning one's conference and being invited to a BCS Bowl generates a lot of publicity.

Oklahoma still has the following games left: Notre Dame, @ West Virginia, Oklahoma State, and @ TCU.

If Oklahoma loses at least one of those games, then the Sooners like fall out of contention for a BCS bid. Losing two or more losses guarantees no BCS Bowl.

2 or more losses???? Uuummmm....Michigan has two loses. It's better to clarify, probably that two or more conference losses will keep you out.

I doubt that the success of a team this year would sway him one way or another. This hasn't been Oklahoma St.'s best year. Ole Miss isn't a traditional powerhouse...I think it's safe to say he is basing the decision on where he feels is the best fit for him.

  • I'm going to leave this topic on this; if Treadwell was/had been busy for awhile, why didn't he just cancel the visit a couple weeks ago? I think it shows his interest that he set up a visit a month ago, then an hour before the game he was asked if he was attending and he responded with "What time is the game?"

That's all I'm going to say on this, I don't buy Treadwell being in this class.

  • I may have an unpopular opinion, but I'd rather see him go ahead and visit the other schools in which he has interest. If not giving them a chance is what is holding him back from a decision, I'd rather that he get it done so he can feel that he's making an informed decision. I'm in the camp that doesn't make too much of the fact that he missed the MSU game. I can definitely see how being a high school student athlete could be time consuming and exhausting. I won't be too discouraged about landing him until he starts focusing on a single school that isn't Michigan. So long as his expressed interest is scattered, I'm pretty even keel about it.

The problem with your logic is he has canceled all of his visits, not just his one to UM. And he appears to have done it so he can focus on his HS team. So how can you make it seem like it was a careless attitude by him against UM when he isn't visiting anyone. There is absolutely nothing wrong with deciding to focus on your team at a certain pt in time, he likely decided that Friday thus him not canceling weeks prior. So what he asked what time the game is, who knows why he responded with that answer. It's your prerogative to lean towards him not being in th class but you and others read into so much that it makes you look like you are entitled because Treadwell failed to do something you expect him to do. No one know the full story, only what Tom has said. Don't forget, Tom is a reporter and it's clear treadwell likes a story so why can't that be a possibility? I'm not leaning one way or another because what I would be leaning on is assumptions. We all will know more once he takes his visits.

There were no plans for an official to Michigan before this, right?

Correct. The most recent mention was him visiting unofficially for the MSU. The fact that he will use his official to a school he has seen numerous times is a good sign, not only for us because we can show him the red carpet and give him undivided attn but also one less team he can visit.

  • I think the coaches were pushing for an OV after the season anyhow.

  • This is just going to drag out the process even more for him, I don't see him committing until signing day or even after honestly.

Edit: If this means he will not be visiting Norman this weekend for the ND game, it's huge.

Well, I'm eating a heaping plateful of crow here. This is what I get for jumping to conclusions. Time to pump the brakes on Treadwell until after the season.

I'm guessing this refers to Treadwell's season, not NCAA football's. Not sure if this is a legit link, but if it's correct then his season should be over pretty soon. I'd assume this schedule doesn't include playoffs, though.

Yes his regular season is over and playoffs are starting and think his team will go far in them.

Who cares at this point we have reason to believe we are getting an official visit that's good news.
Yesterday we thought he had blown us off and was basically dis-interested. Now we have reason to believe he does still have interest, that is excellent IMO.
