Just goes to show that not even mutliple national championships can overcome geographic ties in some instances...

    Yup.

    He's definitely a stud.

I'd actually rank him above Treadwell because Daniels seems more dynamic. Some of the things he showed on his video are reminiscent of Sammy Watkins.

Caveat: I'm NOT saying that Daniels is Watkins 2.0 or something like that.

  • I really like Allen. He'd be perfect as a slot that can switch seamlessly to wideout.

He reminds of Danny Coale of VTech. He's the WR that had his TD overturned in the 2012 BCS Sugar Bowl.

  • I think there's something to be said when high-end recruits commit so early in the process. A lot of high-end guys like the attention and the drama that goes along w/ their HS recruiting. The whole announcing has become a circus in itself, going from team press conferences, to individual conferences, to not even showing up to your own press conference. This is really the first time these kids get to taste a bit of the limelight, and it's interesting to see how differently its handled.

Especially w/ Hoke's rule on making visits after committing. All these 2013 guys are solid w/ Michigan as their future and they don't need to be wooed or told how pretty they are by all the big-time coaches chasing them.

Give me high character guys that have team 134 in their best interest over guys waiting for Signing Day to have an ESPN special on them any day.

They may say we're done at O-line but we all know come signing day that not all things pan out according to plan. Sometimes spots open up cause we didn't get the limit on one position we hoped. I think by the end of this whole thing we get one more OL. I don't know who, but the coaching staff always had 1 or 2 spots open for guys that they can't turn down.

Some evidence to back up your claim. From TVH:

If you missed this discussion on the message board, I will go into detail here. It was assumed that having five offensive linemen committed would mean Michigan was done at that position. However, I believe that there is a scenario where the coaching staff would take a sixth commitment from an offensive lineman.

In fact, Ethan Pocic was told to call offensive line coach Darrell Funk the other day to discuss where they stood. Pocic told me that Funk said they are still interested in him, and if he were to pick Michigan he would still have a spot.

That is only true for a handful of kids, though, so if a lesser-rated lineman wanted to pick Michigan, he wouldn’t be able to.

That makes sense since the staff landed only four linemen in the 2012 class, and were prepared to take six if those prospects would have chosen Michigan. They lose at least four offensive linemen after this season, and then two the season after that.

That would leave Jack Miller and Chris Bryant as the only real “veterans” on the team, but taking six in this class gives you 10 guys behind them. That seems like a good idea to me to take that sixth commit if it’s an elite prospect such as Pocic.

  • I predict Michigan to have the NO.1 recruiting class of 2013., and a National Championship title in 2014 with a win over Alabama 20 to 16.

I was going to create a thread looking at the depth the coaches are creating across the board as a team for the future. An example of this is the oline recruiting. We took 4 last year and stand at 5 right now for this year, with a slight chance of getting 6 kids to commit. For this discussion I was going to stick with 5 this year for now.

Some would look at taking 9 kids at one position group as a log jam within a 2 year period. I see 2 of the 2012 kids not being able to RS though (let's use Kalis and Braden for this), with the other 2 kids being able to RS (Bars and Mags). Next year we lose Barnum, Omaneh, and potentially Khoury as starters, with the chance of Lewan going pro also. That is worse case scenerio, replacing 4 starters for 2013. If that happens, I see 2 of the kids from this class (let's use Bosch and Fox) having to burn a RS, and the other 3 being able to RS (LTT, Dawson, and Kulger).

I don't want any kids to have to burn a RS, but if they do, we have spread these kids out so they aren't bunched up together with having to start underclassmen.

Eligibilty wise, we would be looking at losing these guys in these years.

2016 = Miller, Bryant, Kalis, and Braden
2017 = Mags, Bars, Bosch, and Fox
2018 = LTT, Dawson, and Kulger

If these guys pan out, it allows the coaches to take 3-4 Olinemen every year and to start RS everyone of them in the future. We won't have anymore issues worrying about a true freshman having to hold up against a 5th year senior somewhere along the line.

Sorry for my ramblings, but as I stated these coaches are building depth across the board, and I am loving it.
