Our coaches absolutely want Derrick Green. They have made that clear from the beginning. If Tressel was still head coach of Ohio football, then Green would already be a Buckeye. But Green's affinity for the Buckeyes did not faze them. They have been steady and persistent in their pursuit of Green. Admittedly, losing out on Isaac forced the coaches to ramp up their efforts.
But I don't have an explanation on why the coaches seem determined to take 3 RBs in this class when we have some great options in the 2014 class.

I actually don't have an opinion on his timeline simply because I don't have a feel for his recruitment. But I did feel that those who were expecting a commitment from him this weekend were surprisingly optimistic. I think they got caught up with all the details (i.e. Dawson's tweet, Meyer rescinding scholarship, Green deciding to extend his stay, etc.).

True. But Sam gets much of his info from directly inside Schembechler Hall. When he is wrong, it's usually because something changed not he just guessed wrong. And he never uses the term "gut feeling" when he is giving a prediction. It means he has been told something.

I didn't hear exactly what Sam said. I am just going on what the OP wrote. Sam is very careful. He uses the term "gut feeling" specifically in certain situations. He doesn't use that term when he is only giving his opinion or prediction. Or at least I've never seen him do that in the past.

I don't know. If he did not commit today, we have our work cut out. I am not sure I understand the 'hidden meaning' with SW's comments. Green said himself today he is nowhere near a commitment essentially. A lot can happen from now till NSD. I will reserve judgement till I hear SW on the radio tomorrow.

agreed, we definetly have our work cut out for us and i didn't mean it looks good as in an immediate commitment. I do feel though that we made a significant jump up his list and have made ourselves strong contenders. Anything can happen in the next 6mo but i think we'll be there till the end and will have a very good shot to land Derrick.
