I don't care where we finish at this point. As long as we get Treadwell, this class will be amazing. For all I care they can bank the 24th scholly for 2014. Just give me Treadwell.

Note: I hope everyone knows the minute we get Treadwell all this goes out the window and I'm gonna want another.

actually rankings is a big factor for some recruits. its a good recruiting tool. a lot of kids don't want to play for teams that are not bringing in top classes. you can sell having the #1 recruiting class to kids. Some kids that got interviewed on why michigan is in their top 7, 5, 3 etc is because they are bringing in the #1 class on top of everything else that michigan offers that you already know. kids want to team up and play with the best. if we get the #1 class for 2013 we can sell that to 2014 kids and let them know where bringing in the best.

Edit: I realize a $9/month account is not going to be a major violation, just pointing out how the tweet was opening the door for fans to easily commit a minor violation.

exactly what never lose hoke said. as long as they are not affiliated with michigan its all good. cant be coaches, alums, boosters, basically anyone employed by the university or donates money to the university.

IMO we'll have a few guys get bumps tomorrow. Prolly Lewis and Butt for sure and hopefully Shane. Can anyone think of anyone else that might?

well guys I asked luginbill yesterday if michigan players were getting a bump on the new rankings. He replied with yes, shane morris is. Now that can be viewed two ways. Shane is the only player rising or that he is rising much higher and other players may get a small bump.

I've seen that, but don't see how it can be true. It opens up way too many loopholes if these kids are allowed to take money from people who aren't in those categories. You could find fans of a school who didn't go there and don't donate money and have them take a recruit out to dinner and pay the bill?

Yes, having the #1 pays dividends in recruits perception of UM and the momentum we have but let's be real. No fan who is checking on where the class ranks or why player x isn't rated higher is asking those questions because they want kids to see us do well, at least that's not the main reason. The main reason is fans want to win the mythical title of having the #1 class. That's why folks champion the likes of shane and others to get a higher star because folks want the class to have more 5 stars or more 4 stars so we are more likely to have the title of #1 that lasts in folks minds for a week. So dont dance around the topic by mentioning the sides, we all know the steak of the topic here.
