2013 Recruiting Hotlist

Ingram was a 3 star from the same city. Just saying

Eh, kind of true. Was a 3-star to Scout, but was a 4-star top 200 recruit to Rivals. While I certainly think Rawls can be good, Ingram showed more moves and speed in high school, not just the bowling bowl style Rawls seems to run with.

  • Honestly, OL do require significant development in college compared to others. As Coach O'Brien said...the further from the ball you play, the earlier you can see the field. OL and DL generally require more development.

That means with the OL, you're not going to see consistency in star rankings compared to college performance. It all depends on development and development depends on what university you choose.

With all that said...that doesn't mean the stars don't matter with regard to linemen. Michigan's classes of OL have been great and there's no signs they'll slow down at all. Chances are, as long as the OL coach and S&C are even adequate, that they'll have a great OL down the road.

Wow, it must have had to do with his teammate committing to Clemson, he was supposed to be a HUGE Bama lean.

Bama fans are kind of like Ohio fans where they believe every recruit is a lock. The only difference is they usually land them. This is also a testament to not listening to what people are saying on the recruiting trail about who someone favors.

Yeah but most thought he was a Bama lean, not just Bama fans, Clemson also has a great chance to land the #3 player Montravious Adams.

I thought this as well. Let's hope we can get him on campus again this summer.

I don't think they know each other, if they do I don't believe it's that well. The one we have to worry about pulling Kendall is Dorian O'Daniel, someone who could have been a Wolverine if he had been able to visit sooner.

Very good point. In the end, I can see Fuller going Blue. Gut feeling for some reason. On a side note, I loved Mattison's response from the SMSB camp this week. He was direct and to the point .... commit to Michigan when you have the chance. I love we are letting athletes know the interest is back and high .... the train is moving with or without you. I was never a fan of the athletes that need "primetime" to put a baseball cap on their heads. I will take a Dawson, Logan Tuley-Tillman, Thomas, Morris, etc. any day of the week. They knew Blue ... went after it ... and committed. No hype. No glamour. All Blue.

Nope, he tried to commit to OSU, but Urban told him he would need to camp first...Poor boy got shutout.

Clemson is in the final top 3-5 for some great recruits:

    Adams
    Fuller
    Bryant
    North
    Green
    Others

Maybe this could start a sea change and hurt Bama and other SEC schools?

Doubt it Clemson is the ND of the ACC. They recruit very well, and never bring home the hardware to show for it.

  • What's most impressive is that they're doing this after losing by 100 to WVU!

Yes, I was only talking about a recruiting impact vs the SEC.

  • Anyone heard anything about Brogan Roback - QB from St Johns (Toledo, OH). Heard he grew up a Michigan fan. He's a mid 3 star here but a 4 star on TOS. Listed with some big time interest, but only MAC offers. I wonder if there's a chance he could get a late offer from us or if he'd consider a walk-on spot.

Like a lot of other prospects we're filling up and don't have room for a lower rated guy. We don't need another QB in this class with the prospects in the Midwest next year and getting a QB next year would create two years of separation between who we get next year and Morris.

Probably not unless he gets no offers outside the MAC. I could see him getting an Iowa offer and possibly MSU offer.

One thing I notice from that video that I LOVE is how quick Dawson's first movement is. His back foot is moving (and often planted) before the defensive player even twitches. By the time the defensive player is rising out of his stance, Dawson already has his back foot down and has enhanced his leverage for the ensuing block. Quick reflexes like that out of a 300+ lb. player are going to really help his development as a great interior presence.
