Michigan has some stiff competition for Harris. Very doubtful that he commits on his visit.

i've seen reports as tall as 6'7", who knows how accurate that is. Really makes me think he will be staying at the 5 tech though and not moving inside. I know the positions are interchangeable to some degree but still, 6'7" is definitely the exception for someone in a 3-tech. I was not happy with how that worked out with Massey.

We should have a solid/good, but not great class. Foster is unlikely at best - I think he'll end up at Bama. Dorian Johnson is the guy we need - I believe we've got a decent shot when he visits with his mother later this month.

I don't believe Anzalone will come to PSU, but I think we'll come close and make a good push for him. The only other PA prospect we expect to get is David Williams. If we whiff on Dorian Johnson, I do think the PSU coaches will continue to push for McGlinchey - I've maintained for a while now that ND's class will be susceptible to late raids this year.

That said, there's several other good prospects we're in on that aren't in-state. This year we're concentrating on NJ, next year I think we'll hit VA hard (Hand, Brown, Blanding, among others -- not saying we'll get them, just that we'll recruit VA hard).

Honestly, I've been hopeful in comparing our 2012 recruiting class to your 2011 class. I think we're potentially a year behind you guys in recruiting. We can continue to be a year behind you if (and only if) we do well this season. Our schedule sets us up well for a solid 9-10 win season, IMO. Will be interesting to see the recruiting battles between OSU, PSU, and UM during the next few years. I'd really prefer you guys stay out of the east...don't like seeing UM get into NJ, PA, and VA. We need those prospects more than you do at this point.

Is 2014 setting up to be a good class for you guys? Seems like there's a lot of elite prospects out east from initial reports IIRC. As long as you keep your hands off Peppers, you can clean up over there

Their QB Hackenburg is also really good. I guarantee we'll hear a lot of Hackenburg to Breneman in the future, a la Brady to Gronk/Hernandez in O'Brien's offense. O'Brien's gotta be happy getting two players like them locked up.

2014 is looking pretty good. Haven't heard anything about Peppers on our end. I asked Wiltfong about PSU/Peppers the other day - he said we've been by and he's a target. I guess Peppers just isn't doing the recruiting scene much.

Right now, we lead for Sam Mustipher and Marques Little. We're also in on multiple top QB prospects (DJ Gillins, Drew Barker, Andrew Ford, etc.). Ford is ours if we offer, supposedly. We'll be in on Hand, Brown, and possibly Blanding - like I said, I think we'll be concentrating more on Virginia during the 2014 cycle, but NJ will also be a state we zero in on. The staff is doing work all over the place, as they're moving into the southern states as well, hitting up Georgia hard and working on Florida. We're excited to see what PSU can do down there - so far, the comments have been promising but we obviously need to get visits from these kids.

If you guys get Peppers, that's fine. Marques Little was told he's our top target in the secondary for 2014, and I'm just not expecting to get Peppers at all. Would love it, but haven't read any interest from his end. We'll see though, the staff has done a great job of getting interest from prospects that seem to be out of nowhere. For example, they're apparently picking up interest from RB Ryan Green from Florida, and thinking we might get a visit out of him. I'm not expecting even the visit, but there are plenty of times when things seem to come out of nowhere and it turns out the PSU staff was doing work all along.

Absolutely the fact that he is longer and athletic would make him extraordinary at the "5 tech" outside linebacker. Mario Williams 6'8" 290 #1 pick in the draft.

No offense, but these kinds of arguments never seem to hold much weight for me. Take, for example, Greg Webb, whose family is very close with Eli Woodard's. Thus, OSU fans think Webb is all theirs. Yet he visits PSU and a week or so later commits to us. I also heard arguments from UM fans that Shane Morris was all over Adam Breneman on twitter and was hitting him up hard. The fact is, recruits are all going to be close to each other. But kids, especially elite ones, are going to choose what's best for them, not necessarily the school where they're good buddies with some of the commits. I don't think we'll get Alex Anzalone, despite the fact that he seems especially close to Adam Breneman (he even scheduled his future visit around when Breneman would be on campus). Just how things are.

Mustipher has visited us twice already, and has spoken very highly of us. If you had VIP, you'd be able to read the comments towards the end of the most recent article on Mustipher, which was just before he visited PSU's June 2nd camp. I think his comments would clarify things for you.

How much weight were u looking for it to hold? Sam is close family friends with Blake, and it will play a large factor in his recruitment....it does not guarantee anything.

I linked the article for you above, he said that it PSU were to offer on his visit then he would strongly consider committing to them.

Yeah, he wavered when Rich Rod was fired and Hoke keep him committed.
