2013 Recruiting Hotlist

  • star69 said...

Anyone follow Tim Harris on twitter? He was not to happy with UM looking at some kid fron his school or area. Said he was told not to visit and now UM is looking at my boy. Something to that affect...

I really liked Harris, so hope it's not true. But the only 2013 safeties I can think of we are still actively recruiting are Cravens from CA (who isn't) and McQuay from FL. But that is not new news.

There's Shane Cockerille, who I believe we were recruiting as a S, but he recently committed to Maryland and I have heard nothing about us continuing to pursue him. Maybe Hartis is talking about Leon McQuay, who I believe is scheduled to visit in a few weeks.

Edit: It also could be Shaq Wiggins (GA; committed to UGA), Devin Butler (DC; committed to ND) or Tre Bell (NJ; committed to UF). Haven't heard much about Butler, but AFAIK we still are recruiting the other two at CB.

  • Per Sam Webb Issac is going to visit USC this weekend. Hopefully it rains the whole weekend and is cold as crap

  • Haha!! Guess I was 'late to the party'... headslap either way I don't think this makes or breaks it for either school USC or UM, but it is obviously a plus for USC.

Mid 70's and sunny is weekend forecast for LA. 10% chance of rain on Friday and 0% Sat/Sun. Looks like we need to hope for something else.

I seen the tweet and he was talking about the coaching staff coming in to see Shane.

Skill positions, man. Its about an impossible sell for Hoke right now, I think.

  • So pessimistic around here. What makes you guys believe we cannot land Ty when we have the advantage in every category except the weather.

Ty is not a flashy look at me kid. He is not a pick a hat kid. He fits Michigan. He will be Blue in the end.

I don't agree. Darboh, Chesson, Drake Johnson, Norfleet, Dukes, Funchess, Butt, Deveon Smith etc.... I like all of them. Skill positions are the easiest positions in college football to evaluate and the easiest to get high level production out of on the college level. Simply because there are so many more kids in high school who play offense as opposed to defense and you can find ways to manufacture offense.. Funchess has been told he will start out at wideout by the staff.. and I love that move. I think he has big time potential.

While it would be nice to land Ty Issac because he is an outstanding talent it's not something to be upset about. Him going to USC does not hurt us... if he went somewhere in B10 country then I think you would have to look at it differently because we would be facing him for the next 3 to 4 or 5 years. As long as a kid does not go too one of our rivals I really don't care where he goes... because we will mostly likely not be playing them unless it's in a bowl game.

There is a good chance we could end up playing him at USC with the new B1G-Pac12 agreement.

Because we are selling a pro style offense that none of the recruits have seen on the field yet. Though I disagree its impossible, difficult sell yes.

Isaac would fit our offense perfectly. He is a big, fast north-south runner. I will be very disappointed if we miss out on him. And, IMO, he would not be used nearly as well by USC. USC has become primarily a passing team with a running game attached. UM is going to be a run first, pass second team, similar to Alabama and Wisconsin. I suppose USC could go back to its roots as a run first team, but I haven't seen any statements from Kiffen to that effect.

Billisking.com usually has podcasts for every Thursday when JC goes on...always Michigan callers calling to ask. JC is a good guy, great at what he does, but doesn't seemed as informed or at least doesn't have his thumb on the pulse of everything going on pertaining to Michigan, since its so fluid. He's a busy dude

I'm guessing this is your opinion and nothing that Isaac himself said are advantages for us.
