So I found this comment on Bucknuts.....

"I can't not comment. Visiting from MSU 247 because Treadwell has said a nice thing or two about us and wanted to know what your crew thought of him. scUM fans think everyone is either a "silent commit" or a heavy lean. Seems like everyone on their board thinks everyone they offer is dying to commit. Worst part about it is that they have a ton of paying customers who constantly troll our boards to gloat on their mythical recruiting championship. Someone please god shut these arrogant jerkoffs up.
Anyway, thanks for the hospitality. Good luck this season. Go B1G. Treadwell is a stud. Whoever gets him will reap some rewards I think."

That was from a frequent MSU poster on this board; Skip1856 or something like that. What I don't understand is why he would come have a conversation here, then go trash us on another site? Just curious.

I do it all the time.lol

No doubt about it. Ohio State will be very, very tough to beat.

Let's say in the next month or so Burrows commits to a school other than Michigan. Which of the following represents the typical desire of the Michigan fan base:

    A) Work hard on Burrows until NSD with every intention to flip him to Michigan

    B) Do A, but only if that school is NOT in the B1G conference. If that school is in the B1G, will stop recruiting him and let him play at that school

    C) Do A, but only if that school is Ohio State. If that school is not Ohio State, will stop recruiting him and let him play at that school

    D) Stop recruiting him, because he has already committed to another school.

I think we'd go with A. But we're pretty tight on corners, I think Burrows fits the bill, he's around an elite level and we've only been recruiting Fuller (maybe Hargreaves?).

We don't need Burrows and he doesn't want to come here. Not sure why this is being discussed?

  • If we miss out on EJ Levenberry, I hope the coaches go after Jaylon Smith relentlessly.

I know our depth chart is a concern for Smith but the coaches should challenge Smith's pride and competitive spirit by reminding him that ballers do not fear competition.

Moreover, I get the impression that IF we win against Alabama to start the season then Michigan will turn even more heads. A LOT of stud recruits will be watching that game. To beat the reigning national champions on prime time would garner a lot attention, interest, and praise.

More importantly, it would give the coaches an excellent recruiting point to close out the 2013 class in a strong fashion and it would give them added momentum for the 2014 class.

A lot of ifs and we just don't have the line depth to pull it off, yet.

  • So what happens if Fuller, Cravens, and Isaac go elsewhere (with the first two more likely)? I know that we are still recruiting Jordan Wilkins at RB, but more poignant, what will happen with these open scholarships?

Recruiting is fluid. New names will pop up if need be.

I agree, but he's just straight up not interested. It won't happen.

And usually big seasons help out the following recruiting class. So a big season would pay off in 2014.

This. Although at LB, S, CB, and maybe even RB, we don't really need another guy. We're just in it for so many guys that we can't turn down.

    Yes, I agree.

But Coach Mattison repeated that a lot of growth happens during the summer because Michigan traditionally emphasizes the 3 month summer program moreso than many other programs.

I'm interested to see how our players look heading into fall camp.

If Smith just won't consider us, then that's fine. But it certainly won't hurt to be persistent since the majority of our recruiting has already been completed.

And yes, there tends to be a delayed effect.

  • His bro playing for Ohio has a big impact. He doesn't want to play on the other side of the rivalry against his bro (even if his brother is not really on the field), too bad he feels that way. Apart from his brother transferring, I don't think anything would change that.

Agreed on the defensive side but there is the rb from Tennessee, and even Green who I'm not huge on that we could pursue.

  • You think OSU is full at the D-line and Hurst/Munger/Bower not going

And just watched Sprinkle's highlight tape and wasn't impressed at all. Lots of QB hits when no one blocks him and chasing down bubble screens

    Wrong!

The coaches should still go after EJ Levenberry relentlessly because wherever he verbally commits, Nick Saban, Les Miles and Urban Meyer will go after him relentlessly. Do you really want to sit back and watch those 3 come after EJ after his verbal commitment to some other school?

PS: Go after Jaylon Smith too ...

Just do what Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Les Miles and Lane Kiffin would do: recruit them relentlessly until NSD with every intention of flipping either or all 3 of them.
