OG: Kyle Kalis --- the only one that's pretty close to a lock

C: Jack Miller/Blake Bars/Patrick Kugler --- technique-wise, Kugler is probably the most sound, but he won't arrive until fall and will probably RS. That makes it between Miller and Bars IMO, with walk-on Joey Burzynski possibly battling it out as well. I think Bars has a good chance to win it.

OG: Chris Bryant/Ben Braden/Erik Magnuson/Kyle Bosch --- Bryant has the age and the size, but his injury could still be a problem. Braden and Magnuson are both better suited for OT, but might be our fifth best OL and we would want to get them on the field. Bosch is the wildcard. He already is college-sized, and the reports from his EE have been extremely positive. Chances are that he makes the two deep at the very least, and could contend for a starting job sooner rather than later. My bet is on Bryant if his injury is no issue and Braden otherwise.

Also, this is assuming that Mike Schofield stays at RT. He could slide back inside if the coaches want Braden as RT, in which case Kalis and Schofield would be our OGs.

Looking at this break down, I'm fairly confident with what we have at G. Seems like whoever emerges at RG will be solid. Now I'm going to be watching the center position very closely this spring. They should be tested quite well in the spring game and I'm a little bit concerned about center on this team next year.

Spring game format going to have the ones vs the ones? Or are they going to have captains picking teams? I'm hoping we get to see the ones go at it.

Taco will be a monster. It took Clark 3 years to get up to that weight, and Taco will be coming in that big and strong as a freshman. Love it.

It keeps me up at night, man.

I didnt think schofield played up to his capabilities.

I think that was more a function of no longer playing in between Molk and Lewan, and instead having to deal with being on an island next to Omameh. He didn't necessarily make more mistakes or anything, they were just more magnified.

Ultimately, I do agree that he can play better than he did last year, and I think that's part of the motivation for keeping him in one place so he can stay comfortable.

We didnt have the depth to do a true game last year. Im not sure, but we may this year. That would be amazing

Of anyone in the 2013 class, I think he'll be the one that OSU most regrets letting leave the state. Sure, they'll hate losing Dymonte, and Butt will do his damage on offense, but Taco is going to be a monster. Forget OSU's heavy DL recruitment, we just straight stole a gem out of their backyard.

He is also a senior. Seniors tend to get highly motivated and that switch flips. The line could be really much betyer then last year.

Truth. I'm sure he wants to go out well. It'll also help that the seniors are the best OLs and the leaders. Last year, our seniors were the weak spot on the OL, and none of them really stepped up as leaders. Having guys like Lewan and Schofield to provide mentoring and guidance (as well as an example to live up to) for the young guys will definitely help.

I think so too, but we will have to wait and see. Plus there js just so many kids to be excited aboit. It was such a hige class with talent everywhere.

  • You guys are getting way too excited about Taco. No way he's good. I hear he didn't even start on his HS team.

  • Hoke and staff have stated numerous times that Schofield is staying/playing at RT this upcoming season. I don't forsee that changing, but anything's possible.

Fairly certain we'll have a full game this year.

I went last year and it was very disappointing.. Lame as hell. I'll go no matter what again, but I'd really prefer a real game lol

  • I don't know how many have seen Taco in person, but you won't find many better looking athletes around the country than him. A solid 6'6 with some freaky long arms and a killer 1st step, with no body fat on him. He's about 270 now(as he's stated), and guarentee he still looks skinny.

Kyle,I'm going to guess what is really keeping you up at night is your baby girl, however I share you enthusiasm and optimism.

I was going to say his wife keeps him up at night (giggity!) but I suppose his baby girl makes more sense.
