It just sucks for these kids coming out of high school because they were so highly praised and web they get to college realize the challenge they never had to face in high school.
One thing that I am not worried about with Shane is the limelight getting to his head web he gets to college. In every camp he was in he also came in with a chip on his shoulder to try and prove that he deserves to be mentioned with the top QBs in the country. I was glad when he didn't make the elite 11 because it kind of opened his eyes to realize that he still has a lot of work to do. He will be a vocal leader at Michigan and I really do think he has potential to be remembered at Michigan. That is if he is up to the challenge at hand.

Awesome interview. He really seems to be embracing the role as a QB and a leader of the team. I think he's going to be a media darling - he's well-spoken, great smile, jokes around, and he says all the right things without having to pause to think about it. I'm really glad we've got someone like him to come in and take over as QB - really puts my mind at ease for the upcoming season.

Yeah i thought so too. He definetly had an odd motion last year. I thought it looked a little better in the first practice video but we only saw a couple throws so i didn't really think anything of it. But with this video it looks like him and Borges have been working on it. I just wanted to get your opinion to see if i wasn't the only one that noticed it being a bit better.

Pretty much a dumb statement by Morris. Every top college QB goes to a "professional" to get tips to get better. Hell, Peyton Manning went to see Duke coach David Cutcliffe before the season last year to work on getting back.

I wouldn't call his statements as dumb, it's an opinion. For one, can anyone say for sure that the margin of improvement bw a HS kid who pays a professional to work on their game vs someone who uses the resources immediately around them is that big that the professional work is indeed worth the money? It's like Kaplan and paying for sat classes. Is that money spent that big of an advantage vs going online and finding exactly what to study for yourself?

Secondly, Shane is going to get a lot of work in college The coaches will tell him exactly what he needs to work on which is likely the same instruction he will get from the professional.

I think Shane's point is valid. The professionals providing their service isn't doing it for charity, it's a business. They are selling their business telling kids they need to work on x, y, and z. This may indeed be true but is a professional needed to rectify the issues? Peyton in football, tiger with his swing coach, Jeter has a batting coach but all of those guys are professionals already with money to spend. They are ready at the top of their profession so the smallest improvement means a lot more to them. Where as with HS kids, they will all benefit greatly from college coaching, getting professional help won't give that much more of an advantage over what they get in college because they simply have so much to learn anyway.

I'm happy to defend Shane here. What he's saying is that spending $$$ on coaching doesn't make up for hard work. He's also saying if you can afford top coaching great go for it but don't let a lack of $$$ stop you from putting in the hard work to reach your dreams. I certainly agree with that.

If there is anything that could be considered dumb, it's is a bunch of fans criticizing a guy like Shane who's put in the work to get where he is today. Who are we to criticize. Other than Clint I don't think there are any college level QBs on this board. Shane still has work to do but he's the kind of kid that is respectful to the program and those that played before him and who will work his butt off everyday to get a chance to start in the Big House.

He'll also get plenty of coaching at Michigan and as some have said he'll take advantage of additional coaching if the opportunity is there.

I hear Trent Dilfer is available.

So you don't think that a high school kid already getting those "bigger" tweaks will already have an advantage going into college. Most of these highly rated high school kids are already dreaming of playing in the NFL and if they believe they can get any advantage before the college level go ahead.
