2012-2013 Bowl Season

I'll watch if ND makes it. I have never cheered for ND but will be forced to. I'm not sure what SEC team besides Bama should be in if ND loses.

I'm guessing Florida if they beat FSU. Either way Bama just won themselves another MNC. Saban to the Browns after he wins again. Mark it down.

Looks like Manziel is going to win the Heisman and be the first freshman ever to do it.

Good for him, he's been solid all year and delivered in the clutch, not much else you can ask for. Gotta love the "Johnny Football" moniker too.

I really haven't seen him play. From the stats and what I have heard he might very well deserve it. Pretty crazy if he does.

  • So would we rather USC beat ND and ruin their dream season, or ND beat USC causing Kiffin to lose his job, and we poach some recruits?

    Kiffin is not leaving.

Why not? Not that I have any idea other than their current AD didn't hire him. It doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility, especially if ND hammers them, which is certainly possible, if not likely. It's not going to get any better with graduation and sanctions setting in. Maybe let him recruit this year and take the beating next year and then cut him lose. I guess that's sound logic. He's set up to fail at this point. Not a matter of if but when. IMO.

If Ohio finishes the only undefeated team after the BCS championship, do they have a legitimate claim for voters to vote them #1 in the AP poll?

No. Ohio gets what cheaters deserve. No recognition of their undefeated season at all.

  • I think Auburn set that precedent back in the early 90's. Could be mistaken.

  • Do you think it's possible that Oregon makes the NCG without going to the Pac12CG? If ND loses, it'd probably be: 1. Alabama 2. Georgia 3. Oregon... Then Alabama and Georgia would play in the SECCG. Winner plays Oregon in the NCG?

I just really don't want to see ND in the championship game

Is Barkley going to play? I mean if ND almost loses to purdue, stanford, Pitt, us and whoever else....USC has a chance for the spoiler

I didn't see anything on the first page (thats all I read). Looks like the only one who has said anything about it is Lane and i don't know how credible anything that spews from his mouth is. Monte Kiffin said he didn't know that Lane had been reassured.

"If Haden is gonna keep him then we need to get rid of Haden too" ..I lol

I believe that is right. TheTerry Bowden team was on sanctions and I believe they went undefeated

  • You mean Max Browne isn't suiting up early. 247 sure makes it seem like he could.

  • I hope this is the last division title that Nebraska wins in a long time.

Nebraska came back from 4 double digit deficits in conference games and won them all. And the Cornhuskers were gift-wrapped the Michigan game because of a freak injury to Denard.

And two others because of freak B1G referees.

Not actually, but I would bet one of those two games would've been an L.

  • If Michigan (convincingly) defeats Ohio tomorrow afternoon, then Michigan will still be alive for an at-large bid.

However, a lot of things need to happen:
    - #12 South Carolina will need to defeat #11 Clemson (eligible for at large BCS bid) on the road
    - #13 Oklahoma (eligible for at large BCS bid) will have to lose to either #24 Oklahoma State this week [b[or[/b] at TCU next week
    - #5 Oregon will need to defeat #15 Oregon State
    - #16 Texas has already lost at home to unranked TCU
    - Either Stanford or UCLA will have to lose. (Guaranteed! See below.)

    For the last bullet point:
#8 Stanford plays at #17 UCLA this week. If Stanford wins, then the Pac-12 Championship game will be a rematch of Stanford - UCLA. But if UCLA wins, then it will be Oregon - UCLA next week which means that UCLA actually has an incentive to lose the first game since defeating Oregon will be much tougher.

    So to summarize:

    - South Carolina needs to pull off a slight upset @ Clemson
    - Oklahoma needs to lose against OK State or TCU, both capable teams

    - Oregon will beat Oregon State
