Ouch, that sucks. Hate to say I'm hoping your night gets worse but...

Haha, at least I'm in Atlanta. A cold shower won't be as bad as it would be in Michigan this time of year.

True that. Freezing my nads off up here in East Lansing. Balmy 38 degrees.

It was pretty cold here this morning, mid 40's with about a 15-20 mph wind.

Damn.....3-2 Western. Less than a minute to go too.

    grumble

Need to win tomorrow. However, I think this win really legitimizes Western this year. Road win in Yost is huge for them.

  • wootwoot Go Broncos!

Fun game to watch. Two great teams. Some interesting goals tonight. Lot of good pressure from each team. Power plays were less than impressive for Western tonight, credit good PK by UM. UM had some chances on power plays but couldn't quite get one to bounce in. Good game Wolverines! See y'all tomorrow night.

  • I didn't watch the game but I hear Coach Murray said WMU didn't play well tonight. It is fair to say WMU has a good team.

Good win! Very tough game for the Wolverines, just got back. You guys deserved the game, but some goals on both side shouldn't have gone in and some other ones should have grumble

Would you be interested in giving an analysis of games you attend on this thread? I know I would read. I'm not able to watch many games.

I think it would be fair to say that WMU won ugly tonight. Western didn't look very sharp and seemed out of sync quite a few times but they battled hard and got a few bounces to go their way.

Sure, I can do that. I have student season tickets. I played hockey almost all my life, but I'm not sure what kind of analysis I can give.

As GoRightThru has said, it was an ugly game. Michigan did not play like themselves. I haven't seen WMU before tonight, but they didn't impress me. Lots of sloppy mistakes on both sides. DiGuiseppe keeps standing out to me as a solid player. Looking forward to tomorrow, it'll be a good opportunity for both teams to clean up the play.

I'll have better analysis in later games, but to be honest I was a little tipsy and now I'm drinking with my friends lol

I didn't mean necessarily the night of, just whenever and whatever would be appreciated. Go Blue! cheers

  • WMU didn't impress me much but were still missing a TJ Hensick/Kevin Porter type. On another note... we can't score if we keep getting shots blocked! blank

  • Man I hope Michigan can salvage the weekend tonight with a win. Yesterdays game hurt, today's football game hurt. Michigan needs to come out pissed tonight and get a good win. That and for field hockey to win the B1G Tournament Championship tomorrow on BTN will make this weekend at least a little better.

Agreed, I hope Michigan destroys Western tonight in a way that makes last nights game look like the fluke that it was. GO BLUE!

    A2Wolverines

  • 1-0 lead for Michigan after 1.

    A2Wolverines

  • Michigan wins 5-2 and splits the series! Thank you hockey team for pulling out a convincing win tonight! Go Blue! cheers

    A2Wolverines

  • Well at least Michigan salvaged the weekend by beating up western tonight.

  • Michigan's opponent this weekend: at miami redhawks 4-6-0, unranked. (2-4-0, 8th place)

    miami's results
    10/7/11 vs Bemedji State L 3-5
    10/8/11 vs Bemedji State W 3-2
    10/14/11 at Colgate W 4-3
    10/15/11 at Colgate L 2-3 OT
    10/21/11 at Ferris State L 2-4
    10/22/11 at Ferris State L 0-2
10/27/11 vs Lake Superior St L 2-3 OT
    10/28/11 vs Lake Superior St L 3-5
    11/4/11 at Alaska W 2-1
    11/5/11 at Alaska W 2-1

The redhawks came into the season with a lot of pub, (over)rated at #2 in the preseason polls. Losing their best two offensive players from a year ago, Andy Miele and Carter Camper, definitely caused me to tell miami fans to lower their expectations a little bit. Them getting an ugly sweep over last-place alaska, at least gave them some confidence ending their 5-game losing skid.

Michigan comes into goggin ice center having not won in that building since February 8th 2008. I think that will change this weekend-dramatically. I think Michigan sweeps the young miami team on their home ice, miami still is trying to find get a grip on this season so Michigan catches them at a good time.

  • I really wish more games were on TV. Yes I know Miami is not having a great year but one would think this game would be televised since them and ND have been our biggest competition in hockey for the last 5-6 years.

Anyone getting tickets for the GLI? Michigan opens up against BC which I think is gonna be a great matchup.

Both games at notre dame are being televised for what it's worth. Also the whole home series in February with miami is too.

I just don't understand they televise the whole home series with lake superior state, a very overrated team that has no rivalry with Michigan. And Michigan at miami isn't even televised. Sure miami was overrated and struggling, but it's a key matchup that could be critical to the standings.
