0-2 start doesn't discourage Tim Izzo

  • Maize&Blue said...

The point of the original OP wasn't about Izzo being 0-2. It was about him being called Tim and not Tom.

That's what I get for skimming the OP and reading all of the responses.

Last I checked, MSU lost to the #1 team in the nation and another top 10-ish team. Starting 0-2 isn't shocking. Making something out of nothing. SMH at doubting Izzo, it only makes him more dangerous.

(Just giving you a hard time now)

You're welcome to come on by, but there isn't much discussion on this. We've got a potential Rose Bowl berth to focus on for the next few weeks.

Other than the usual 5 or 6 daily threads about Michigan, of course.

For state. All of the talking heads on BTN and ESPN are feeling state finishes as high as SECOND in the B1G. In all of their predictions, they have state finishing a spot ahead of Michigan. It's really making me scratch my head. confused

I think this year it will be a 3 team race in the B1G. Michigan, wisconsin and ohio.

MSU has one of the most talented teams in the B1G and is coached by a guy who has won a NCAA championship, six Big Ten titles, and has been to six final fours.

I think discounting this team because of two early loses is incredibly short-sighted.

That's all wonderful but the key word is has. Their most recent result in the NCAAs was getting bounced in the first round by UCLA.

It's not that I'm saying they're bad because of 2 opening losses, hell I'm not even discounting them. I'm just asking where is everyone getting 2nd place finish from? I'm mean really, they lost their best player from last year. I think they'll finish in the Top-5 in the B1G & make the NCAAs, but not be ahead of Michigan.

I agree. MSU will always be good...I just don't think they will be great this year.

  • I fully expect them to compete in the Big 10 this year. They underachieved last year. I heard a lot of Spartan fans theorize that Tim Izzo's flirting with the NBA caused some strife that they couldn't overcome. The only problem with the two losses is that, well, it's two losses. It's not detrimental unless they finish the season with 17 or 18 wins.

MIchigan played in Europe last year and got blown out in their first game. As the season wore on, the players stated that the experience overseas really helped them develop into the team they became.

You had the best season of Beilein's tenure by going 9-9 in conference (same as MSU) and winning one game in the tournament. You also lost the best player on your team as well.

What makes you think UM will finish higher than MSU?

IMO Darius wasn't the clear cut best. Michigan is a TEAM. Novak, THJ, Jordan Morgan, 'Smotz, Stu. Without any of those guys, there were certain games Michigan would not have won. I can already tell Burke is gonna be big time by how he's playing right now.

Michigan was expected to be 10th last year in the B1G. Look what they did.

So, MSU lost their best player, but UM didn't lose their best player? huh

Umm, this is a thread about MSU bball on the UM board. The only responses since your win were us laughing at your inability to understand sarcasm.

You're right though, we're all upset by our division title.

So I guess we should all go post on UM topics over on the rcmb, which is like every other post. It's hilarious that you guys are celebrating a divison title, would be even more amusing if you lost to Wisconsin.

lol Seriously. I can't understand how this thread got so of course.

    The headline read "Tim Izzo"

TIM. T.I.M. For those uncertain why that's humorous...well, there's no hope for you.
