What did everyone in here have for a GPA to get into Michigan? SAT score? ACT?

My son was accepted into LSA with a 4.333 and a 29 (he took the test again and scored higher after he already got his acceptance).

Another kid in his class had a 4.4 and 35 but was wait listed for the Engineering school.

I take it his GPA is out of 5? Mine is out of 4 and it ends up being a 94ish. Or is that weighted? I think i may apply to the Ross School of Business and either double major in engineering or at least major in it. I can't imagine getting a 35 but i haven't taken the ACT yet so i don't really know what to expect.

I don't like doing outside school activities (besides sports) it's a waste of time imo

No it's not. Helps a ton on college applications and scholarships love seeing it. Job interviews also want you to be well rounded. Joining clubs and various extracurricular events really helps that. Makes you a better person.

Hey so I got pre-admit status to Ross as an incoming freshman with a 33 ACT and 4.0/4.0 GPA.

I know a couple friends of mine who got into UM with a 26 or 27ish on the ACT and 3.3 GPAs. Like I said above, Michigan (and Ross) love to see well rounded people. Especially in the essays and applications, they want you to show that you're more than just a "nerd" or "jock" or something. They want people who have good academics but do other things as well like sports, band, clubs, jobs, etc.

I think I'm pretty well rounded, i take advanced courses, play baseball, do community service, and am pretty good at all subjects.

Then that should definitely help. Best of luck with applications and everything! Let us know how it goes.

Congrats, that's a hell of an accomplishment. Top notch business school, as you are well aware.

I think being well rounded is very important. My son was All-League and Captain of the football team while maintaining Top 10% in his class. The other kid I spoke about didn't play sports (well, track). They're both in NHS so there's a requirement for community service, aside from his school requiring and additional 20 hours a year.

It's weighted. An A in AP and IB classes earn a 4.5 and 5.0, respectively. Junior took half a dozen AP courses, although he didn't earn college credit because he only got 3s on the exams. Obviously that didn't hinder his acceptance.

I suggest you do as much extra-curricular as you can. The more quality substance you can add to your common application, the better. Community service outside the school, tutoring for middle school kids, clubs, varsity sports, etc.

I'm in EL for the night. I may hate the school, but they've got great parties and attractive women.
