I saw Khalid this summer a couple times. He was pretty good at the Madden/IMG event in Bradenton, Fla., as one of Shane Morris's top targets along with Ron Thompson, Dennis Norfleet and Ruben Lile.
As noted in the article, Khalid really performed well at Michigan's camp during the summer.

I like locking up TE spots early...it's such a hit-or-miss position that wasting time on it irritates me. Now go after a couple of super targets and land one.

He has a twin brother that's a defensive back. Solid prospect from what I hear but haven't seen him live.

Not quite sure what to make of this. I'm glad the coaches like him and that he already has chemistry with Morris. But he seems a little undersized for tight end and like a guy we could have offered later in the process and still gotten. That said, nice to have one of the tight end spots filled with a player the coaches like. Now they can focus on getting one other top tier TE (Breneman, Butt, etc.).

Let's not forget, he's 16/17 years old. My son grew 2 inches (to 6'3.5) from the end of his junior season to the beginning of his senior season. His film displays some wheels for a big guy and he can obviously catch the ball.

However, a growth spurt can lead to lack of coordination. Ricardo Miller is one example.
I like this commit because I like his film. If Hill does not work out at TE, then we can switch him to DE to add quality depth. I love players like him that can play on both sides of the ball and contribute. It gives our coaches a lot of options.

Brenneman would still likely be our key TE target. This is one of those commits where a guy shines at camp at a position of need, and you trust in your coaches to pull the trigger.

Sorry for being a downer but i've lived through the Carr/RR years of loading up on 3 star kids only to see OsU run away with the BIG. That punk UM will stock up on 5/4 star players we have to be able to keep up with them or we will be left behind.
