Funk drops in on Texas CB

Cedric Collins

Dallas (TX) Skyline cornerback Cedric Collins already has four offers early in the process and is receiving serious interest from a number of big-time programs.

Clint Brewster
    • Skyline HS produces a bunch of D-1 players! It would be good for Michigan to get a little pipeline going at there. Collins is an excellent player despite his size. He is also a great kid too, 3.2 GPA.

      Clint Brewster

    • I like his sudden-ness, and he's scrappy for a kid his size. And like Clint said, that'd be great for Michigan to establish a presence at Skyline - they've got talented recruits coming out of there every year.

      Todd Worly

    • Coach has done a good job of getting out and getting a jump on talented kids very early. It will be interesting when/if Texas gets involved. Let's hope he can get a visit in and establish a relationship with coaches before other top schools do.

Good point! Lots of offers going out in Texas to elite players for 2014. I think what most schools are worried about with him is obviously his size but the kid can play, no doubt about it. It will be interesting to see if Michigan ends up offering because they are very careful about offering anyone under 6-foot tall.

    • played against a Skyline team in AAU basketball a couple times when I was in high school, that place pumps out athletes

If I'm not mistaken, A&M feels good about Collins.

terry richardson is 5'9'' and a half clint. They are going after mostly taller corners like you say but they have two different types. It seems like the boundry corner is the one we need height for. They really did not have any taller corners on the roster so they really recruited them heavily this cycle and the last.
I think they will continue to add size to the cb position each year but sticky cover corners do not grow on trees, and the ones who can cover will still get on the field in nickel and dime situations.
