He's #1 in the state in shotput, not in football. Bosch is #1. Augusta is #7

If we can sign Isaac, and if we can sign Treadwell, and if we can sign Augusta, that would be 5 of the top 7 in a loaded Illinois this year. And that is with having to tell Pocic we are full.

he is a super? He is a 3 star on rivals and scout and not rated on espn. A super would be a consensus 5 star or at least one five star. Or have a five star offer list. although his offer list is great with blue, nd and nerbraska....he doesnt have SEC or PAC 12 schools all over him. SO, a solid player that we would love to have...yes. a super...no.

I was going off his rating here, and offer list mentioned here. Michigan, ND, Oklahoma, Neb, aTm... I never checked his rating at the other sites, and but I see your point on that and can agree with it.

    • with it being a somewhat down year for interior dlinemen this kid would be a huge get I actually like him just as much if not more then Poggi and he is a consensus super different strokes for different folks FWIW I like Vanderdoes the most besides MA of course

      SteelBlue0348

    • well I do respect his grading out per this site. 247 in their short life has done well. So I am not dismissing his grade, but IMHO a super is only a few guys a year. and while most sites never always agree we should save the super logo for kids that are, well, super. but I hope i did not just dismiss him in your eyes, because I do think this player could be special.

Either way Michigan really needs a tackle. but we are in good position with poggi I might add.

      well blue,
I do agree with you on those. and in all honesty its always a year short on stud tackles. they do no grow on trees in any year if you guys play close attention. And while I love vanderdoes, he looks to be a very long shot to pull from the west. Not saying we cant, just a long shot

      kylebennett7127

    • I would say that there are between 20-30 elite recruits a year the rest of the top 250 is really splitting hairs imho

I was probably a little vague, there are usually a couple top notch DT in the Midwest. This year is not the case, also there are usually more top notch DT in the South East just seems down is all. As for Vanderdoes no I dont think we can pull him from Oregon unless they get hit hard by NCAA, but he is my second favorite DT and the top ranked DT that we are recruiting.

      SteelBlue0348

    • well blue, there are 2 dt's in the 247 top 50. I guess it depends on what you think is elite. I think we just have a different idea of what elite is. now, i am in no way saying your opinion is wrong, just that we have two differentiating opinions.

i just dont believe the 20th -30th best players at a position are elite.
and to further my point, all i mean is that there is generally less dt prospects that are very very good compared to say wr

when I said 20-30 I didnt mean per position I meant overall and WR and skill position players in general are a dime a dozen thats why it is so important to own the trenches

I was practically convinced we would get two of Poggi, Lacouture, Kenton Gibbs, and Poet Thomas at one point in this early recruiting process. Since I seem to be totally wrong on that one, maybe it means my thoughts we wouldn't get Augusta are totally wrong too?

DT recruiting has me baffled this year.

Augusta just let me know that he threw a personal best 61'3'' at today's conference meet, and didn't even feel like he threw that well.

That's insane for shotput, he's got some real strength!

Definitely, and he thinks he can hit 65 before the end of the season.
