Smythe will officially visit Michigan on January 25th.
Former University of Texas commit Durham Smythe opened his recruitment back up in December. Holding offers from over 15 schools, recently, the four-star prospect has narrowed it down to a final five schools.
Smythe has set his latest official visit to Michigan for January 25th.
“I really like Michigan and coach (Darrell) Funk,” said Smythe. “I feel like I would be utilized well in their offense. Michigan is a great mix of academics and athletics.”
The 6-foot-5, 232-pound Smythe is a Semper Fi All-American and the sixth ranked tight end in the 2013 class.
“I’d say Michigan, Stanford, and Oregon are the three schools standing out for me right now,” Smythe told Wolverine247. “They are slightly above Nebraska and Notre Dame, which are the other two schools I’m considering but I haven’t set up visits to them yet.”
Smythe visited Stanford this past weekend and will take an official to Oregon on January 18th.
Ranked as the 25th best player in the state of Texas for the 2013 class, Smythe has a 92 overall grade. He is No. 188 in the Top247.
