Three-star cornerback Antwuan Davis (Bastrop, TX/ Bastrop) has become a well-known prospect on the recruiting trail for BCS programs across the country, gathering 14 offers so far. The Michigan Wolverines have joined the fray.
“I spoke with Coach (Darrell) Funk a while back and he told me that Michigan was highly interested me and that they would officially offer me soon,” said Davis. “About a week ago Coach Funk called my head coach and told him that I had an offer. I know that Michigan has the potential to be a championship team and their academics really standout to me, they are a great school.”
The 6-foot-0, 180-pound Davis has yet to make any unofficial visits other than a Junior Day to Texas A&M but plans on setting up visits toward the end up spring and into the summer.
“I want to visit Baylor, Texas A&M again, Michigan, and I might try to visit LSU before the end of summer but I’m not exactly sure when yet,” said Davis. “I want to see these schools this summer because I plan on making a decision before my senior year.”
Davis kept tabs on Michigan’s success this season on the field.
“I really think they have great coaches because of what they did in Brady Hoke’s first year, Michigan was really aggressive on defense and the way they came through and won the Sugar Bowl was impressive to me,” explained Davis. “I’m really interested in Michigan and I want to learn more about them,” said Davis.
Davis has no leaders yet in his recruitment but plans to narrow his list down this summer. He is open to any new offers coming his way.
Davis is ranked as the 31st best cornerback in the country by 247Sports with an 88 overall rating.
