Although Khari Willis (Jackson,MI/ Lumen Christi) is only a freshman in high school, the 2015 point guard is getting early interest from a trio of Big Ten programs.
2015 PG Khari Willis is already on the Wolverines radar.
Willis was in attendance for the Wolverines victory this afternoon against Illinois.
“It was really good, I enjoyed it!” said Willis. “I have been to a few football games there at Michigan in the past but this was my first basketball game. The atmosphere was really impressive.”
The 5-foot-11, 175 pound Willis has mainly received interest from Michigan, Michigan State, and Indiana so far.
“I get a lot of letters and e-mails from the coaches at those schools saying that they are interested in me and they want me to come to games or visit the campus,” said Willis. “I’ve always been a fan of Michigan and Michigan State. Indiana has a great program so it’s exiting to hear from them.
Willis mentioned Kentucky as a school he would like to hear from before he makes a decision because of their winning tradition.
“I really want to make a decision after basketball season next year, I’m just looking for a great program and I want to play in a good environment,” said Willis.
Willis has been averaging roughly 12 points per game this season along with 5 assists per game.
Willis, who also plays running back and linebacker for the football team at Lumen Chrisit will participate at the varsity level next year. Willis’ brother Terrell was a four-year letter winner on the football field for the Toledo Rockets.
