Soooo key that Dymonte was there. Have been hearing positive things about this recruitment from Shane Morris as well!

    • Bri'onte there is no way Michigan has a chance of winning a national Championship the next four years but OSU does and you'll have a chance to get 20 carries a game during your career!

    • Man, the bucknuts sure are setting themselves up for disappointment. And 20 carries/game, who are you kidding?

They are trying to 'kid' Brionte. I would put a significant wager that no RB averages 20 carries a game for OSU in the foreseeable future...other than maybe Braxton Miller.

Good sign that Brionte's whole family was there. I think he is really having difficulty with this decision. I hope he comes here, but I have to say, the kid has handled the attention about as well as you can.

You just went 6-6 and you're talking about national titles? roflmao

    • Who knows what he does but dissappointment among OSU fans is not one of them. Urban is going to unleash hell on the B10 and one recruit won't change what's coming.

I should say 15-20 carries since it is the trend for most teams to use two or three running backs and in Myers system. Richardson from Alabama and Ball from Wisconsin averaged 21 carries per game and Fitzgerald Toussaint 14. Also how many games did a Michigan back get at least 20 carries? Furthermore, when you think about the kind of kids that are interested in OSU since Urban became coach and future recruiting bonanza's a NC title is a strong possibility. The mistake that Hoke and Rich Rod made is that you can not beat the SEC and compete nationally with just Midwest kids from Michigan and Ohio, Tressel like Urban Myer said was evolving his team to look like a SEC team with speedy athletes that came from all over the country. That team that beat Arkanas was fast! Michigan is OSU north because of recruits from Ohio but how many of those kids have a chance of playing pro? Michigan has to get quality recruits from OSU every year not just quantity like Bo did. Yes, they got Kalis, Wormley and may even get Dunn but this will be the exception not the rule. Wormley to me is the most valuable of the three. In 2013 I see the top recruits in Ohio staying with OSU and the future.

    • With a experienced coach maybe one lose this year with a mediocre team in a mediocre Big Ten. Fickell is a good guy but was not ready for prime time. Osu's whole LB core was hurt the Michigan game and in a normal year would have blowout. You can be delusional about the potential of Braxton Miller and Urban Myers but in you heart you know they will make magic if he can get a few more play makers and speed at DE and LB.

      Your errors are numerous.

FIrst, since the MSU game (where he basically did not play), Toussaint had 20, 16, 27, 29, and 20 rushes. Before that game he was hurt. Hoke has said he wants only 1 primary runner. Even with the injuries he averaged 14.5 carries a game. The Western game also ended in the 3rd qtr, the MN game ended by the 1st qtr. I think we can safely assume he would have averaged over 20 if not hurt.

RichRod's problem was not that he recruited the Midwest too much...that is laughable. If anything, he recruited Florida too much for slot receivers.

Tressel's teams, after a decade, NEVER looked like the SEC, and never recruited out of the midwest hugely. Absolutely, he got some premier kids from all over, to his credit. But his vast focus was locking down Ohio, as bucknut fans keep reminding us. As for getting Ohio players...other than the past 4 years, we have ALWAYS gotten a fair number of Ohio players. In fact, the lockdown of the last couple years is the exception over the past half century, not the rule.

Urban runs the spread. Has always run the spread. For that, he will have to shift focus away from Ohio. Now, you can either lock down Ohio, or recruit nationally...very difficult to do both, with as many premier players in Ohio. Tressel focused on Ohio...I doubt Urban does as much.

    • Losing Dymonte will not hurt the OSU class of 2013. Great DB's will be coming from all over the country. I think this kid should refrain from some of things he he is saying about OSU. Okay to be pro team but players should stay classy.

LOL...considering what Buckeye fans are saying about him, this is pretty laughable. Go to any of his games (I went to one earlier this year) and hear the things the crowd yells at him. You will wonder why he is not going off on worse rants.

      This post is hilarious.

Greg Mattison was the DC for the 2006 BCS MNC UF team and helped build the 2008 BCS MNC UF team before leaving for the NFL. Mattison, along with Borges, knows what a SEC team looks like on both offense and defense.

Mattison has every intention of building a SEC-like defense. What remains to be seen is if he wants to build a Alabama-like defense or a LSU-like defense.

And as I understand it, Borges is interested in implementing a Stanford-like offense...essentially a GCO with 2 TE sets mixed in.

I heard Urban earlier in the season when He called a game that OSU's Offense looked and was too slow. I noted it and filed it under watch and see. I have been watching who and where he is recruiting and I think I will agree with you on this point because he is definitely looking to speed this team up in a hurry IMHO from what I am reading on the recruiting trail as well as speed up the Dline. Now considering that it was the 1-2 game that he called I am inclined to say that the team still basically had a "Tressel" mentality and he wasn't impressed to say the least. He seems to be content with the rest of the defense recruiting class but is pushing hard on Dline. On Offense He is recruiting every position but RB, FB, and TE which we appear to be set with right now any way for a year. He is still recruiting big o and D linemen but is putting way more focus on "athletism" of the big guys. Again IMHO

    • Looking at Meyer's years at Florida at the number of carries for the top rusher:
2005 - Deshawn Wynn 130 carries, average of 10.8 per game
2006 - Deshawn Wynn 143 carries, average of 10.2 per game
2007 - Tim Tebow 210 carries, average of 16.1 per game
2008 - Tim Tebow 176 carries, average of 12.5 per game
2009 - Tim Tebow 217 carries, average of 15.5 per game
2010 - Jeff Demps 92 carries, average of 7.0 carries per game

Also of note: Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey and Emmanuel Moody never cracked 100 carries in a year under Urban Meyer. In fact, once he got Tebow his running back carries basically vanished.

Meyer's running game goes through his quarterbacks. He has one in Braxton Miller that can accomplish that just fine, so Miller will get the heavy load. To say Dunn, a power back, will average 15-20 carries a year in Urban Meyer's spread offense is wrong.

      freernnur5

    • You are also aware that Greg M was the DC at Florida when LLoyd beat them with RR influence incorporating some of the spread for that game during practice right?
